Etching paste for glass from Pentart
- content 50 ml
Pentart's Glass Etch Paste is a creamy paste used to etch glass surfaces. Simply apply to the surface and leave for at least 15 - 30 minutes (depending on the desired intensity). Then rinse everything with water. The paste creates a matt, smooth layer on the glass which can be further painted or decorated.
ATTENTION: The glass etching is the result of a chemical reaction, it cannot be removed.
Application: You should cover your work surface before, just in case something goes wrong. Paper is perfectly sufficient here. Then you clean the glass surface with water and dish soap (better alcohol) and please do not use glass cleaner. Please use the enclosed gloves before working with the paste. The paste should be stirred very well before use. Then you apply the glass etching paste with a brush (best), a sponge brush or a plastic spatula in an even layer on the surface. Please take your time for this so that you apply the paste evenly and reach every corner. Afterwards everything should react on the surface for at least 15 minutes (the longer the application time, the stronger the result) and then rinse with water. Please remove the stencil only after rinsing the paste. Please clean the tools (brushes etc.) immediately after use!
Store the paste at room temperature, as it can crystallize at low temperature. If crystals do form, place the container in warm water and wait until the crystals have melted. Stir well afterwards. During longer storage the paste can become thicker, but please do not dilute it with water or any other material as it will lose its reactivity! The glass etching paste can be neutralized with baking soda (sodium carbonate).
