Craft manual Mixed Media doorplate “Home” by Nicole

Most of the time you buy door signs. Whether this is what you imagined in the end is another matter. Maybe it is too big or too small, does not have the right shape, the colouring does not really fit etc. etc. But there is still our creativity 🙂 And why not make a door sign yourself? Nicole will show you today how you can easily make a door sign that exactly meets your expectations.

The HDF “Home” from Artistiko was given a layer of white gesso for protection. Structure was given by a stencil and “White Crackle Paste” from Finnabair.

Then a layer of black gesso.

I highlighted the structure with the Antique Brilliance Wax “Fire Ruby” from Finnabair.

Now I started to design the background for the HDF. I covered grey cardboard with a design paper from the Paper Pad “Victoriana” from 13@rts. For more interest I created structure to the sign with the stencil “Abstract” by Artistiko. For the texture I mix “Texture Sand Paste” from Deco Art, Magic Paint from Fabrika Decoru “Red Wine” and some “Mini Art Stones” from Finnabair.

Now it was time for the composition.

-home-made roses from Formiran

-Chipboards from Art Prosvet and Scrapiniec

-Impressions from the “Mechanica” mould

The casts and chipboards got first some black gesso and then the color with the wax “Fire Ruby“.

Now highlights had to come!!!! With the metallic paint “Bronze” from Fabrika Dekoru I achieved these.
