Craft manual Mixed Media HDF “Heart” by Nicole

Have you ever wondered how you could turn a simple circle of HDF into a work of art? Then here is an inspiration for you. Nicole has turned a simple base into something fantastic. You can take a closer look at how she did it afterwards.

The HDF circle big from Artistiko got only one layer of white gesso. Then I decided to use the rice paper from Stamperia “Clock and Butterfly” for the background of my project.

After that I put all the parts I wanted to apply to the project for a trial run. This makes it easier for me to determine my center (or focal point).

Now I created the background. The Lindy’s Spray Moon Shadow Mist “Smoky Sapphire” gives the whole project a shimmer. With the stencil “Abstract” from Artistiko I gave my project more structure. For this I used “Paper Texture Paste” mixed with Acrylic Paint “Hazelnut“. On the still wet paste I sprinkled glitter from the set “Luminous” by Finnabair.

The Embellishments :

Metal leaves and flowers
Gear wheels from the “Mechanica” mould
Mechanicals from Finnabair
HDF wall remnant from Artistiko

I first worked with “Brown Rust” from the Rust Paste Set, then with the Impasto colours “Jade” and “Linen“.

More Embellishments: I have added Vintage Trinkets “Clocks” Vintage Trinkets “Mini Numbers” and “Roman Numbers” all unchanged.

Now the background was too faint and colorless for me. With the Metallique Acrylic Paint “Steampunk Copper” I gave it a little more depth.

I sprayed paper flowers and artstones with Bodacious Blush” from Lindy’s Spray Set “Totally 80’s“. Now my project is finished and I am super happy with it. 🙂
